National History Day

Every year National History Day® frames students’ research within a historical theme. The theme is chosen for the broad application to world, national, or state history and its relevance to ancient history or to the more recent past. The 2023-2024 theme is Turning Points in History.

Contest Rules

Students in 7th and 8th grade honors classes are guided through the research portion of the project and supported when making their entries. A mini-showcase of Trexler's NHD projects will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, beginning at TBD.

Highlights: 8th grade NHD students will visit Muhlenberg's Trexler Library in order to research at a deeper level. Students get to attend the college to research primary sources available through their resources. Students are invited to return to the library as often as they desired to research and record their findings. This trip is sponsored by the Allentown School District Foundation.
