National History Day

Every year National History Day® frames students’ research within a historical theme. The theme is chosen for the broad application to world, national, or state history and its relevance to ancient history or to the more recent past. The 201-2020 theme is Breaking Barriers in History.

Students in 7th and 8th grade honors classes are guided through the research portion of the project and supported when making their entries. A display of Trexler's NHD projects will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2019. Time to be determined at a later date.

Highlights: Last year, 8th grade NHD students visited Muhlenberg's Trexler Library to research primary sources available through their resources. Students were invited to return to the library as often as they desired to research and record their findings. This trip was sponsored by the Allentown School District Foundation.
